Regular Season Round 13: Aschersleben - Vechta II 77-80

A very interesting game took place in Aschersleben. It ended with only three-point home defeat of 4th placed Aschersleben (4-3) to sixth ranked Vechta-2 (4-5) 80-77 on Saturday evening. Vechta-2 well out of reach of Aschersleben shooting 80.0 percent from the field. Croatian center Neven Zeravica (205-88, college: W.Virg.Wesl.) fired 27 points (perfect from the field making all twelve shots !!!) for the winners. Philipp Herkenhoff (207-99) chipped in 16 points. Lithuanian guard Arunas Sakalauskas (191-91) produced 21 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and American Sharif Hudson (188-92, college: Ark.-Monticello) added 18 points respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Vechta-2 moved-up to fifth place in North, which they share with Weser Bsk/BTS. Aschersleben at the other side keeps the fourth position with three games lost. Vechta-2's next round opponent will be Hannover Korb. (#7) at home. Aschersleben will play against Rendsburg and hope to win that game.
