Everything went according to plan when first ranked Coburg (10-1) outplayed at home 14th ranked Bayreuth 2 (1-11) 93-73 on Saturday. Coburg made 24-of-28 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. It was a very good performance for American forward Jordan Burris (201-92, college: CS San Bernar.) who helped to win the game recording 29 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Forward Fabian Franke (198-88) contributed with 19 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Robin Amaize (188-94, agency: Octagon Europe) answered with 21 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists and power forward Nils Dejworek (207-95, college: Valdosta St.) added 20 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Bayreuth 2. The victory was the ninth consecutive win for Coburg. Newly promoted Coburg maintains first place in South-East with 10-1 record. Bayreuth 2 lost their eighth game in a row. They keep the fourteenth position with 11 games lost. Coburg will face Oberhaching (#7) in Deisenhofen in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Bayreuth 2 will play against the league's second-placed Bad Aibling (#2) and hope to win that game.
