Very important is a road loss of third ranked Esgueira / Oli (6-4) against seventh ranked Guifoes (4-6) on Saturday night. Visiting Esgueira / Oli was defeated by Guifoes in a tough game in Guifoes 53-62. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Esgueira / Oli. Guifoes made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. The former international swingman Rui Mota (190-78) scored 21 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and swingman Pedro Meireless (193-95) chipped in 14 points during the contest. At the losing side guard Samuel Loio (180-89) responded with 11 points and 6 assists and point guard Pedro Valente (175-85) scored 13 points. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Guifoes moved-up to fifth place in Group North, which they share with Ginasio. Loser Esgueira / Oli dropped to the second position with four games lost. They share it with Vasco and Academico FC. Guifoes will meet at home league's leader Dragon Force in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Esgueira / Oli will play against the league's second-placed Vasco and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
