Regular Season Round 13: Speyer - Saarlouis/Dillingen 84-67

There was no surprise when 10th ranked Saarlouis/Dillingen (4-9) lost on the road to second ranked Speyer (10-3) 84-67 on Saturday. Speyer dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Saarlouis/Dillingen's 38. They outrebounded Saarlouis/Dillingen 49-38 including a 38-26 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a very good performance for American power forward Aaron Ellis (205-87, college: Wichita St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points and 17 rebounds. Guard Joshua Creek (189-87) contributed with 20 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Four Speyer players scored in double figures. British-American guard Adrian Kuyinu (190, college: Missouri Baptist) answered with 23 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and naturalized Bosnian center Muharem Mujkanovic (204-88) added 10 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Saarlouis/Dillingen. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Speyer. They maintain second place in South-West with 10-3 record having just two point less than leader Coburg. Newly promoted Saarlouis/Dillingen keeps the tenth position with nine games lost. Speyer will have a break next round. Saarlouis/Dillingen will play on the road against the league's leader BV Villingen-Schwenningen (#1) and hope to win that game.
