Regular Season Round 12: Steaua CSM - Olimpic 119-68

Second ranked Steaua CSM (10-1) crushed at home 11th ranked Olimpic (1-10) by 51 points 119-68, which is the biggest margin this round. The game without a history. Steaua CSM led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Olimpic's 26. They outrebounded Olimpic 41-24 including a 29-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Steaua CSM shot the lights out from three nailing 13 long-distance shots on high 52.0 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Olimpic's players. It was a good game for Serbian Nikola Jevtovic (208-89) who led his team to a victory with 22 points and 8 rebounds (perfect from the field making all nine shots !!!). American power forward Dave Dudzinski (206-92, college: Holy Cross, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) contributed with 14 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Five Steaua CSM players scored in double figures. Serbian guard Luka Pajkovic (190-92, college: Morehead St., agency: Alti Sport) replied with 23 points and American forward Mike Smith (198-90, college: Lincoln, MO) added 10 points in the effort for Olimpic. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Steaua CSM have an impressive five-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with UBT Cluj Napoca. Olimpic lost seventh consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom place with ten games lost. Steaua CSM's next round opponent will be CSU Sibiu (#3) on the road, which may be the game of the day. Olimpic will play against Craiova (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
