Regular Season Round 13: Westerstede - Weser Bsk/BTS 71-85

No shocking result in a game when seventh ranked Weser Bsk/BTS (4-5) beat on the road 9th ranked Westerstede (2-5) 85-71 on Sunday. Weser Bsk/BTS forced 19 Westerstede turnovers. Westerstede was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for point guard Philipp Hellmich (184-89) who helped to win the game recording 29 points and 4 steals. American center Edward Seward (206-78, college: Norfolk St.) contributed with 19 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Naturalized FYR Macedonian point guard Armin Musovic (192-96) answered with 11 points and 5 assists and Jacob Albrecht (203-95) added 8 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Westerstede. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Weser Bsk/BTS. They moved-up to fifth place in North, which they share with Vechta II. Westerstede at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the ninth position with five games lost. Weser Bsk/BTS will face league's leader Stade at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Westerstede will play against the league's second-placed RW Cuxhaven (#2) and hope to win that game.
