Regular Season Round 7: Yakin Dogu BGD - Botas 86-89

Important game to mention about took place in Istanbul. Eighth ranked Botas (4-3) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging 4th placed Yakin Dogu BGD (4-3) 89-86 in the fight for the fourth place. Botas forced 19 Yakin Dogu BGD turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. It was a great evening for American guard Odyssey Sims (175-92, college: Baylor) who led her team to a victory scoring 33 points (!!!) and 8 assists. International center Tilbe Senyurek (190-95, agency: 1x1 Sports) helped adding 26 points and 9 rebounds. At the losing side the former international center Quanitra Hollingsworth (196-88, college: VCU) responded with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds and American-Hungarian point guard Courtney Vandersloot (173-89, college: Gonzaga) scored 21 points and 8 assists. Botas have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Yakin Dogu BGD. Botas will play against Istanbul Uni (#5) in Istanbul in the next round. Yakin Dogu BGD will play at home against Mersin BSB and hopes to get back on the winning track.
