Regular Season Round 11: Khimik-2 - KPZO DYUSH 100-38

Bottom-ranked KPZO DYUSH (0-9) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 100-38 loss to third ranked Khimik-2 (8-4) in Yuzhny. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. The game without a history. Khimik-2 led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding KPZO DYUSH to just 4 points in fourth quarter and to 10 points in second half. Khimik-2 dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to KPZO DYUSH's 20. Khimik-2 forced 28 KPZO DYUSH turnovers and outrebounded them 47-26 including a 24-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by KPZO DYUSH's players. Forward Maksym Nikolenko (196-98) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points and 8 rebounds. Guard Anwar Rakhimshaikov (188-97) contributed with 16 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Five Khimik-2 players scored in double figures. Guard Kirilo Yakovlev (187-87) answered with 10 points and point guard Sergey Bukin (180-87) added 11 points in the effort for KPZO DYUSH. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Khimik-2 moved-up to second place. Newly promoted KPZO DYUSH still closes the standings with nine games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
