Regular Season Round 5: Montana 2003 - Neftochimic 87-60

Very significant was Montana 2003's (#1, 4-0) victory against 4th placed Neftochimic (1-3) 87-60. It was a great shooting night for Montana 2003 especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.9 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. American center Leeza Burdgess (194-90, college: La Salle) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds for the winners and the former international forward Tsvetomira Sharenkapova (184-91) chipped in 22 points (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Montana 2003's coach Stefan Mihaylov felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ghanian forward Batabe Zempare (188-94, college: CSU Bakersfield, agency: LBM Management) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists and international center Gabriela Kostova (190-94) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds. Four Neftochimic players scored in double figures. Montana 2003 have a solid series of four victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 4-0 record. Neftochimic lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with three games lost. Montana 2003 are looking forward to face league's second-placed Haskovo 2012 at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Neftochimic will play against Septemvri in Sofia and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
