The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Anadolu Efes as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Anadolu Efes smashed 7th ranked Pinar Karsiyaka in Istanbul 96-70. Anadolu Efes shot the lights out from three nailing 13 long-distance shots on high 54.2 percentage. Granger is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Anadolu Efes players scored in double figures. Anadolu Efes' coach Velimir Perasovic felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American power forward Josh Owens (206-88, college: Stanford) replied with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds and international center Akif Egemen Guven (209-96) added 13 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Pinar Karsiyaka. Anadolu Efes have a solid three-game winning streak. As mentioned above they took over a top position. Pinar Karsiyaka at the other side keeps the seventh place with four games lost. Pinar Karsiyaka will play next round against Darussafaka trying to get back on the winning streak. Anadolu Efes will try to continue on its current victory against tenth ranked Trabzonspor on the road.
