Regular Season Round 11: Crvena Zvezda - Student 62-45

Very expected game when 9th ranked Student (4-7) lost to third ranked Crvena Zvezda (8-3) in Beograd 45-62. The game was mostly controlled by Crvena Zvezda. Student was better in fourth quarter 20-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Student to just 4 points in third quarter. Crvena Zvezda forced 35 Student turnovers. It was a great evening for point guard Aleksandra Katanic (172-97, agency: BeoBasket) who led her team to a victory scoring 15 points and 6 rebounds. Point guard Marija Prlja (163-87) helped adding 10 points and 4 assists. The former international power forward Bojana Vulic (191-84, agency: Promotex) responded with 14 points and 6 rebounds and Dragana Nikolic (189-95, agency: BeoBasket) scored 6 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Crvena Zvezda. They maintain third place with 8-3 record having just two points less than leader Radivoj Korac. Student at the other side keeps the ninth position with seven games lost. Crvena Zvezda will play against Sumadija KG (#10) in Kragujevac in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Student will play on the road against Vrbas Medela and hopes to get back on the winning track.
