Elazig managed to escape with a 2-point win 53-51 in the fight for the seventh place. Elazig outrebounded Mersin Uni 41-30 including a 32-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. The former international forward Ilkay Masa (186-84) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 13 rebounds and American center Sasha Goodlett (195-90, college: Georgia Tech) added 14 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Elazig have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Mersin Univ. and Mersin Gelisim. Elazig will meet at home Edirne (#13) in the next round where they are favorite. Mersin Uni will play against Cankaya (#6) in Ankara and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
