No shocking result in a game when seventh ranked Silute (11-8) defeated at home 9th ranked KTU (9-12) 82-69 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Silute. KTU was better in fourth quarter 19-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 21-of-27 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game. Silute looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was center Aurelijus Pukelis (205-94) who scored 19 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). American guard Brian Wanamaker (185-89, college: Texas Wesleyan) chipped in 18 points and 5 rebounds. Wanamaker is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Silute players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Jaunius Davniukas (197-95) who recorded 15 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Martynas Zigmantavicius (187-96) added 11 points and 4 assists respectively. Silute maintains seventh place with 11-8 record. KTU lost their third game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the ninth position with 12 games lost. Silute will face Delikatesas (#12) in Joniskis in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. KTU will play at home against Telsiai and hope to win that game.
