Everything went according to plan in Essen where tenth ranked Koeln Rh.Stars (7-8) beat 15th ranked ETB Wohnbau (3-12) 83-66 on Saturday. Americans were the main players on the court. The best player for the winners was guard Hugh Robertson (195-89, college: S.Florida) who had a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Guard Jelani Hewitt (191-91, college: Georgia South) chipped in 18 points and 4 assists. Koeln Rh.Stars' coach Arne Woltmann used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Chris Alexander (186-83, college: Southern) who recorded 23 points and forward Eric Thompson (204-93, college: Pacific) added 4 points and 13 rebounds respectively. The victory was the third consecutive win for Koeln Rh.Stars. They moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Uni Baskets. ETB Wohnbau lost their third game in a row. They keep the fifteenth position with 12 games lost. Koeln Rh.Stars will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. ETB Wohnbau will play again against Koeln Rh.Stars (#10) and hope to secure a win.
