Very expected game in Afyonkarahisar where 17th ranked Duzce Belediye (3-12) was defeated by sixth ranked Afyon Bld (10-5) 56-52 on Saturday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The best player for the winners was the former international point guard Ibrahim Yildirim (190-90) who scored 17 points and 5 rebounds. Forward Hadi Ozdemir (203-83) chipped in 8 points and 8 rebounds. Afyon Bld's coach Mehmet Kabaran used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was American center LaRon Dendy (205-88, college: Middle Tenn.St.) who recorded 14 points and 9 rebounds and forward Erhan Yetim (204-87, agency: 1x1 Sports) added 8 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. Afyon Bld moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Duzce Belediye lost their third game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the seventeenth position with 12 games lost. Afyon Bld will face league's second-placed Eskisehir Basket in Edirne in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Duzce Belediye will play at home against Istanbulspor (#3) and hope to win that game.
