We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 10th ranked BG Goettingen (6-8) was defeated at home by eleventh ranked Science City Jena (6-7) 82-76 on Saturday. Americans were the main players on the court also this time. The best player for the winners was point guard Julius Jenkins (187-81, college: Georgia South) who scored 23 points. Guard Marcos Knight (188-89, college: Middle Tenn.St.) chipped in 15 points. Power forward Scott Eatherton (203-91, college: Northeastern, agency: BeoBasket) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds and swingman Alex Ruoff (198-86, college: W.Virginia, agency: Inception Sports) added 21 points respectively for the hosts. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Science City Jena moved-up to tenth place. Loser BG Goettingen dropped to the eleventh position with eight games lost. Science City Jena will meet at home higher ranked Bayern Muenchen (#3) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. BG Goettingen will play against Walter Tigers (#15) and hope to secure a win.
