BSL round 11 most important game was a victory of Besiktas over 4th placed Banvit 80-69 on Saturday night. Besiktas dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Banvit's 28. They outrebounded Banvit 39-23 including a 27-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Serbian center Vladimir Stimac (210-87, agency: Interperformances) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 15 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). American-Tunisian Michael Roll (197-87, college: UCLA) contributed with 15 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Lithuanian swingman Gediminas Orelik (199-90) answered with 17 points and 4 assists and American point guard Jordan Theodore (182-89, college: Seton Hall) added 12 points and 9 assists in the effort for Banvit. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Besiktas have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Fenerbahce. Banvit at the other side keeps the fourth position with three games lost. They share it with Darussafaka and Galatasaray. Besiktas is looking forward to face Gaziantep (#14) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Banvit will play against TED Kolejliler (#16) in Ankara and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
