Regular Season Round 16: P.Zvaigzdes - Neptunas 70-67

The most exciting game of round 16 in the LKL took place in Pasvalys. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 4th ranked Neptunas (8-8) to seventh ranked P.Zvaigzdes (7-9) 70-67 on Saturday evening. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 18-14. But Neptunas won second period 17-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Derrick Low (191-86, college: Washington St., agency: Octagon Europe) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 8 assists. The former international swingman Steponas Babrauskas (197-84) contributed with 13 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Jamaican-American forward Omari Johnson (206-89, college: Oregon St.) replied with 9 points and 8 rebounds and American guard Jimmy Baron (191-86, college: Rhode Island) added 10 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Neptunas. P.Zvaigzdes moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Juventus. Neptunas at the other side keeps the fourth position with eight games lost. They share it with Vytautas. P.Zvaigzdes is looking forward to face Dzukija (#9) in Alytus in the next round. Neptunas will play on the road against Lietuvos rytas (#3) in Vilnius and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
