Leader Redwell Gunners Oberwart delivered the tenth victory. This time they beat 5th ranked Arkadia Lions (5-7) 80-71 in Traiskirchen. The guests were already 13 points ahead at halftime and as many as 18 after three quarters before a 23-14 last quarter charge of Arkadia Lions cut the lead to 80-71 at the end of the game. American point guard Derek Jackson (185-91, college: Kent St., agency: Mansfield and Associates) notched 17 points and 6 assists to lead the effort and the other American import forward Cedric Kuakumensah (206-93, college: Brown) supported him with 17 points and 5 rebounds. Even a double-double of 14 points and 13 rebounds by Montenegrin center Milovan Draskovic (211-95, agency: Interperformances) did not help to save the game for Arkadia Lions. The former international point guard Benedikt Danek (176-86) added 13 points and 5 assists for the hosts. Five Arkadia Lions players scored in double figures. Redwell Gunners Oberwart (10-2) have an impressive six-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position. Arkadia Lions at the other side keep the fifth place with seven games lost. Redwell Gunners Oberwart's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Gmunden Swans in Gmunden and it will be for sure the game of the week. Arkadia Lions will play on the road against Dukes in Klosterneuburg and hope to win that game.
