Regular Season Round 8: Botas - Istanbul Univ. 75-62

Everything could happen in Adana at the game between two tied teams. Both fourth ranked Botas and 5th ranked Istanbul Uni had identical 4-3 record. This time Botas used a home court advantage and won against the opponent from Istanbul 75-62 on Saturday night. Botas dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Istanbul Uni's 22. They outrebounded Istanbul Uni 46-34 including 35 on the defensive glass. Botas looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard Odyssey Sims (175-92, college: Baylor) who scored 17 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. The other American import point guard Natasha Lacy (178-85, college: UTEP) chipped in 10 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. American forward Jordan Hooper (188-92, college: Nebraska) produced 22 points and Bosnian-Serbian guard Sasa Cado (178-89) added 13 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Five Botas and four Istanbul Uni players scored in double figures. Botas have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 5-3 record. Istanbul Uni lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh place with four games lost. They share the position with Adana ASKI. Botas will meet bottom-ranked Samsun (#14) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Istanbul Uni's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Istanbul Yakin Dogu BGD.
