Regular Season Round 12: TuSLi Berlin - Wolfenbuettel 64-56

Second defeat of league's leader Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel (10-2) against tenth ranked TuSLi Berlin (3-8) 64-56 was the most important game of the last round. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 20-11. But Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel won second period 25-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. TuSLi Berlin forced 21 Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a good game for swingman Jenny Menz (184-91, college: UTSA) who led her team to a victory with 12 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Center Julia Sandow (182-88) contributed with 16 points for the winners. TuSLi Berlin's coach Alexandra Maerz used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Alli Gloyd (185-92, college: Arizona) replied with 18 points and 9 rebounds and guard Theresa Simon (180-98) added 10 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel. TuSLi Berlin moved-up to ninth place in North. Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel at the other side dropped to the second position with two games lost. They share it with Neuss. They were replaced at the leadership position by Heidelberg. Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel will play next round against B.Loewen trying to make it back to the top of the standings. TuSLi Berlin will try to continue on its current victory against third ranked Goettingen at home.
