Very expected game when 12th ranked Hatay (2-6) was defeated at home by second ranked Fenerbahce (7-1) 77-59 on Sunday. Fenerbahce looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was Belarusian center Anastasiya Veremeenko (194-87) who scored 15 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. American swingman Shekinna Stricklen (187-90, college: Tennessee) chipped in 17 points. Fenerbahce's coach Georgios Dikeoulakos used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. American center Courtney Paris (191-87, college: Oklahoma) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 15 rebounds and Serbian point guard Jovana Popovic (173-90) added 14 points and 4 assists respectively for the hosts. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Galatasaray. Hatay at the other side keeps the twelfth place with six games lost. They share the position with Osmaniye. Fenerbahce will meet at home Osmaniye (#13) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Hatay will play against Mersin BSB and hope to secure a win.
