Regular Season Round 12: B.Loewen - Neuss 70-71

Important game to mention about took place in Loewen. Third ranked TG Neuss (10-2) saved a 1-point victory on the road edging 6th ranked B.Loewen (6-6) 71-70 on Sunday evening. The guests were ahead by 4 points but lost the second period ending it with a 9-point deficit before their 15-5 run, which allowed them to win the game. TG Neuss dominated on the defensive end, holding B.Loewen to just 5 points in fourth quarter. They made 21-of-24 charity shots (87.5 percent) during the game. TG Neuss forced 24 B.Loewen turnovers and had a 21-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward Jana Heinrich (188-86, college: San Diego St.) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 9 rebounds and Anne Storck (180-88) who added 14 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. Four TG Neuss players scored in double figures. TG Neuss' coach Janina Pils allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. The best for the losing side was American Ja'Nee Morton (175) with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds and center Viktoria Jaeger (184) scored 17 points. TG Neuss keep a position of North leader, which they share with Wolfenbuettel. B.Loewen at the other side keeps the sixth place with six games lost. They share the position with Gruenberg. TG Neuss will play against Krofdorf/Gleib. (#5) in Giessen in the next round. B.Loewen will play on the road against the league's second-placed Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel and hopes to get back on the winning track.
