Regular Season Round 16: Vytautas - Nevezis 83-69

No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Vytautas (8-8) beat 8th ranked Nevezis (5-11) in Prienai 83-69. It looked good early as Nevezis took a 2-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Vytautas had a 29-10 second period charge getting the lead and Nevezis was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 69-83. Vytautas players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Arturas Valeika (207-85, college: Midland CC) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 6 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and center Mindaugas Kupsas (217-91, agency: Octagon Europe) who added 14 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Vytautas' coach Virginijus Seskus allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side American guard Jermaine Love-Roberts (188-89, college: Ill.-Springfield) responded with 13 points and 6 rebounds and Croatian guard Toni Prostran (182-91) scored 7 points and 10 assists. Four Nevezis players scored in double figures. Vytautas moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Neptunas. Nevezis at the other side keeps the eighth position with 11 games lost. Vytautas will play against Juventus (#6) in Utena in the next round. Nevezis will play on the road against the league's leader Zalgiris in Kaunas and hopes to get back on the winning track.
