We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Noerdlingen where 10th ranked SV Halle Lions (3-8) were crushed by eleventh ranked TH Wohnbau Angels (4-8) 77-57. The game was mostly controlled by TH Wohnbau Angels. SV Halle Lions was better in second period 22-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded SV Halle Lions 36-24 including a 30-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for American guard Jennifer Schlott (168-91, college: Utah St., agency: LBM Management) who led her team to a victory with 22 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Canadian forward Kim Pierre-Louis (183-93, college: Massachusetts) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Four TH Wohnbau Angels players scored in double figures. American forward Kaneisha Horn (185-92, college: USC, agency: Two Points) replied with 11 points and 6 rebounds and her fellow American import point guard Janee Thompson (170-93, college: Kentucky) added 10 points in the effort for SV Halle Lions. SV Halle Lions' coach rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. TH Wohnbau Angels moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Freiburg and Bad Aibling. SV Halle Lions at the other side dropped to the eleventh position with eight games lost. TH Wohnbau Angels' next round opponent will be bottom-ranked Rotenburg/Scheessel (#12) on the road. SV Halle Lions will play against ChemCats Chemnitz and hope to win that game.
