Regular Season Round 9: Samsun - Botas 72-70

Bottom-ranked Samsun managed to get a second victory, breaking the series of three consecutive losses. This time they edged fourth-ranked Botas 72-70. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Botas. It was a good game for Mali-French center Naignouma Coulibaly (191-89) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Montenegrin-American swingman Eshaya Murphy (181-85, college: USC) contributed with 21 points for the winners. Four Samsun players scored in double figures. American guard Odyssey Sims (175-92, college: Baylor) answered with 24 points and 4 assists and international center Tilbe Senyurek (190-95, agency: 1x1 Sports) added 16 points in the effort for Botas. Samsun (2-7) moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Osmaniye. Botas at the other side dropped to the fifth position with four games lost. Samsun will play against higher ranked Yakin Dogu BGD (#4) in Istanbul in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Botas will play at home against Besiktas and hopes to get back on the winning track.
