Regular Season Round 12: Vasco - Sangalhos 70-62

Very expected game in Porto where 8th ranked Sangalhos (3-9) were defeated by second ranked Vasco (8-4) 70-62 on Wednesday. Vasco forced 23 Sangalhos turnovers. The best player for the winners was forward Paulo Vieira (192-94) who scored 19 points and 8 rebounds. Naturalized Angolan forward Paulo Ferreira (187-80) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Vasco players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Andre Duarte (178-81) who recorded 18 points and 5 steals and forward Nuno Bizarro (192-80) added 12 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Vasco maintains second position in Group North with 8-4 record behind leader Barreirense. Sangalhos at the other side keep the eighth place with nine games lost. Vasco will meet Sanjoanense (#7) in the next round where they are favorite. Sangalhos will play against Esgueira / Oli and hope to secure a win.
