Regular Season Round 11: Beroe - Levski 104-75
Date: December 22, 2016
The game between second ranked Beroe (7-3) and 9th ranked Levski (2-8) in Stara Zagora on Thursday ended with biggest points difference. Beroe outscored guests from Sofia 104-75. Beroe dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Levski's 34. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a quality performance for American guard Shane Gibson (188-90, college: Sacred Heart) who led the winners and scored 24 points and 5 assists. His fellow American import forward Aaron Jones (206-93, college: Mississippi, agency: Two Points) accounted for 15 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winning side. The former international swingman Pavel Ivanov (200-88, agency: Interperformances) came up with 24 points and 4 assists and international guard Evgeni Hadjirusev (193-95) added 13 points and 9 assists respectively for Levski in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Beroe maintains second place with 7-3 record behind leader Lukoil Acad. Loser Levski stay at the bottom position with eight games lost. Beroe will meet Yambol (#8) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Levski will play against Rilski and hope to secure a win.
