Regular Season Round 23: Vytis - Delikatesas 81-82

A very close game took place in Sakiai between Delikatesas and Vytis. Tenth ranked Delikatesas (9-15) got a very close victory on the road over 8th ranked Vytis (11-11). Delikatesas managed to escape with a 1-point win 82-81 on Thursday evening. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 27-17. But Vytis won second period 19-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Delikatesas forced 19 Vytis turnovers. The best player for the winners was forward Darius Griskenas (194-84) who scored 22 points and 7 rebounds. Swingman Zilvinas Petraitis (194-88) chipped in 23 points and 4 steals (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Four Delikatesas players scored in double figures. Guard Paulius Beliavicius (194-88) produced 32 points and 6 assists and center Edvinas Jezukevicius (207-90) added 12 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Delikatesas moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Mazeikiai and KTU. Loser Vytis keeps the eighth position with 11 games lost. Delikatesas will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Vytis will play against Silute (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
