There was no surprise in Paderborn where 9th ranked Uni Baskets (7-9) were defeated by fifth ranked MLP Academics Heidelberg (11-5) 78-73 on Friday. Center Phillipp Heyden (206-88) fired 18 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. American point guard Vance Hall (193-91, college: Bellarmine) chipped in 18 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Four MLP Academics Heidelberg players scored in double figures. American forward Morgan Grim (203-88, college: Utah St.) produced 13 points and 9 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Matt Vest (195-92, college: Wright St.) added 15 points respectively for lost side. Uni Baskets' coach Uli Naechster tested ten players in this game, but that didn't help. MLP Academics Heidelberg have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Kirchheim. Uni Baskets lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with nine games lost. MLP Academics Heidelberg will face Ehingen/Urspringschule (#14) in Allmendingen in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Uni Baskets will play on the road against Kirchheim Knights (#4) and hope to win that game.
