Thirteenth-ranked Edirne (6-11) made lots of trouble for seventh ranked Elazig (11-6) on Saturday. Elazig managed to secure only two-point victory 85-83. However their fans expected much easier game. Elazig made 21-of-26 free shots (80.8 percent) during the game. American power forward Sharon Houston (191-88, college: IU Northwest) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 31 points and 15 rebounds for the winners and Bahar Kocaoglu (-91) chipped in 17 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Guard Munevver Basak (168-86) responded with 24 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and American forward Arhonda Covington (185-85, college: Louisville) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds. Four Edirne players scored in double figures. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Elazig. They maintain seventh place with 11-6 record, which they share with Mersin Gelisim. Loser Edirne dropped to the fifteenth position with 11 games lost. Elazig will meet Yalova Vip (#14) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Edirne will play against Cankaya and hope to secure a win.
