Regular Season Round 9: Tim-Scuf - Interkhim 80-57

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Kyiv. First ranked Tim-Scuf faced second-best Interkhim. Host Tim-Scuf (9-1) smashed guests from Odessa (8-3) 80-57. The game was mostly controlled by Tim-Scuf. Interkhim managed to win second period 19-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Tim-Scuf dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Interkhim's 30. Tim-Scuf forced 20 Interkhim turnovers and outrebounded them 48-28 including a 34-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Tim-Scuf made 7 blocks. The best player for the winners was international center Miriam Uro-Nile (188-94, agency: LBM Management) who scored 23 points and 7 rebounds. International forward Darya Zavidna (185-93) chipped in 19 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Tim-Scuf players scored in double figures. Tim-Scuf's coach Maryna Tkachenko felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Natalia Kolotovska (173-90) who recorded 18 points and 4 assists and swingman Yulia Musienko (177-97) added 11 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Tim-Scuf have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. Newly promoted Tim-Scuf maintains first place with 9-1 record. Defending champion Interkhim dropped to the third position with three games lost. Tim-Scuf are looking forward to face HAI (#7) in Kharkov in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Interkhim will play at home against Dynamo-NPU (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
