Regular Season Round 12: Usak - Tofas 74-98

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both eleventh ranked Tofas and 12th ranked Usak Sportlif had identical 4-7 record. But Usak Sportlif was not able to use a home court advantage and was crushed by the opponent from Bursa 98-74. Tofas dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Usak Sportlif's 30. Tofas had a 26-15 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. It was a good game for Bulgarian power forward Kaloyan Ivanov (205-86, agency: BeoBasket) who led his team to a victory with 21 points and 6 rebounds. Dominican-American swingman Sammy Mejia (198-83, college: De Paul) contributed with 18 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Tofas' coach Orhun Ene felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Latvian Rolands Freimanis (208-88, agency: Alti Sport) replied with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds and Lithuanian point guard Sarunas Vasiliauskas (188-89, agency: Players Group) added 16 points in the effort for Usak Sportlif. Five Tofas and four Usak Sportlif players scored in double figures. Tofas (5-7) moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Istanbul BBSK and Demir IBB. Usak Sportlif at the other side keeps the twelfth position with eight games lost. Tofas' next round opponent will be Istanbul BBSK (#11) at home. Usak Sportlif will play against Banvit in Balikesir and hope to win that game.
