There was no surprise when 10th ranked Ferko Ilgaz (9-8) was defeated on the road by eighth ranked Mersin Gelisim (11-6) 60-52 on Sunday. The best player for the winners was point guard Yaren Uslular (167-97) who scored 17 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Seyma Kutun (170-93) chipped in 9 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists. American center Merissa Quick (190-93, college: Emporia St.) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points, 13 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and Bugce Nehir (-89) added 12 points respectively for the guests. Ferko Ilgaz's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Mersin Gelisim moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Elazig. Loser Ferko Ilgaz keeps the tenth position with eight games lost. Mersin Gelisim will face TED Ankara (#12) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Ferko Ilgaz will play against Orduspor and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
