The game in Istanbul was also worth to mention about. 6th ranked Mersin BSB (5-5) played at the court of seventh ranked Istanbul Uni (4-5). Istanbul Uni did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 73-54. American forward Jordan Hooper (188-92, college: Nebraska) had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 15 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Bosnian-Serbian guard Sasa Cado (178-89) chipped in 18 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Five Istanbul Uni players scored in double figures. At the losing side the former international center Kristen Nevlin (193-85, college: Stanford) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 15 rebounds and Swedish guard Frida Eldebrink (174-88) scored 20 points. Despite that victory Istanbul Uni went down to eighth position due to points difference, which they share with Mersin MBK. Mersin BSB at the other side dropped to the fifth place with five games lost. They share the position with Besiktas and Botas. Istanbul Uni will play against bottom-ranked Samsun (#14) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Mersin BSB will play against Osmaniye (#13) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
