Regular Season Round 16: Telekom Bsk - Giessen 46ers 90-68

The game between sixth ranked Telekom Baskets (9-6) and 7th ranked Giessen 46ers (7-8) in Bonn on Monday ended with biggest points difference. Telekom Baskets outscored guests from Giessen 90-68. Telekom Baskets looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Giessen 46ers' players. American players dominated also this game. It was a very good performance for forward Ken Horton (199-89, college: Cent.Conn.St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds. Point guard Josh Mayo (181-87, college: Ill.-Chicago, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) contributed with 13 points and 9 assists for the winners. Four Telekom Baskets players scored in double figures. Point guard Cameron Wells (186-88, college: Citadel) replied with 12 points and 7 assists and forward Dwayne Evans (201-92, college: St.Louis) added 9 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Giessen 46ers. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion maintains sixth position with 9-6 record. Loser Giessen 46ers dropped to the ninth place with eight games lost. Telekom Baskets will face higher ranked BBC Bayreuth (#4) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Giessen 46ers will play against SC Rasta Vechta (#17) and hope to win that game.
