Not a big story in a game when 6th ranked Telekom Baskets (9-7) were defeated on the road by fourth ranked BBC Bayreuth (13-3) 83-78 on Thursday. BBC Bayreuth made 16-of-17 free shots (94.1 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American point guard Kyan Anderson (180-92, college: TCU, agency: Pensack Sports) who scored 22 points (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!). His fellow American import guard Joseph Lewis (188-92, college: Louisville) chipped in 18 points. Naturalized Cuban swingman Yorman Polas Bartolo (192-85) produced 15 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and American point guard Josh Mayo (181-87, college: Ill.-Chicago, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) added 14 points respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Telekom Baskets' coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. BBC Bayreuth moved-up to third place, which they share with B.Muenchen. Defending champion Telekom Baskets keep the sixth position with seven games lost. BBC Bayreuth will meet Braunschweig (#16) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Telekom Baskets will play against the league's second-placed Brose Baskets (#2) and hope to secure a win.
