Regular Season Round 18: Urla BLD - Ormanspor 81-66

The most important game in the last round took place in Izmir between third ranked Ormanspor (14-4) and thirteenth ranked Urla BLD (8-10) on Friday night. Ormanspor was defeated by Urla BLD on the road 66-81. It ended at the same time the nine-game winning streak of Ormanspor. Urla BLD made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. They also forced 21 Ormanspor turnovers and outrebounded them 34-22 including 22 on the defensive glass. Urla BLD looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a good game for Ukrainian center Olena Staschuk (192-85) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds. Forward Seda Guclu-Aydin (182-88) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Five Urla BLD players scored in double figures. Nigerian-American center Aisha Mohammed (191-85, college: Virginia) replied with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds and guard Nihan Demirkol (172-92, agency: LBM Management) added 20 points in the effort for Ormanspor. Urla BLD moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with TED Ankara. Ormanspor at the other side keeps the third position with four games lost. Urla BLD is looking forward to face Mersin Kurtulus (#18) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Ormanspor will play against 55 Genclik (#20) and is hoping to win this game.
