Regular Season Round 14: Oradea - CSU Sibiu 66-63

The most exciting game of round 14 in the Liga Nationala took place in Oradea. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of one of their biggest challengers CSU Sibiu (8-5) to seventh ranked Oradea (7-6) 66-63 on Friday evening. CSU Sibiu was trailing by 2 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 18-14 charge of Oradea, which allowed them to win the game. American guard Martin Zeno (196-85, college: Texas Tech) scored 21 points to lead the charge for the winners and Serbian-Bulgarian guard Branko Mirkovic (190-82, agency: 011 Sports) chipped in 8 points and 5 assists during the contest. The former international forward Bogdan Popescu (200-78, college: Alaska-Fairb.) responded with 18 points and 6 rebounds and American guard Kevin Hardy (188-93, college: McNeese St.) scored 9 points and 9 rebounds. Defending champion moved-up to fifth place, which they share with BC Timisoara and Targu Mures. CSU Sibiu at the other side keeps the fourth position with five games lost. Oradea is looking forward to face bottom-ranked Olimpic (#11) in Baia Mare in the next round where they are favorite. CSU Sibiu will play at home against Phoenix Galati (#8) and is hoping to win this game.
