Not a big story in a game when 12th ranked TED Ankara (8-10) lost at home to eighth ranked Mersin Gelisim (12-6) 61-57 on Friday. It was a great shooting night for Mersin Gelisim especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 53.3 percentage. It was a good game for American center Nadia Parker (191-87, college: USC) who led her team to a victory with 16 points and 7 rebounds. Fatma Bayram (-98) contributed with 8 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Parker is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Nigerian-American power forward Ayesha Barkley (188-87, college: Stetson, agency: Gamble Sports Management) replied with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds and center Derin Yaya (174-97) added 11 points and 5 assists in the effort for TED Ankara. Four TED Ankara players scored in double figures. Mersin Gelisim moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Elazig. TED Ankara lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the twelfth position with ten games lost. Mersin Gelisim will face Istanbulgucu (#16) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. TED Ankara will play against Orduspor (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
