Not a big story in a game when 14th ranked Samsun (2-9) was defeated at home by sixth ranked Istanbul Uni (6-5) 68-56 on Friday. Istanbul Uni outrebounded Samsun 40-27 including a 16-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American point guard Tan White (170-82, college: Mississippi St., agency: Josep and Nicolas) who scored 17 points and 8 rebounds. Latvian power forward Aija Putnina (191-88, agency: Josep and Nicolas) chipped in 11 points and 9 rebounds. Four Istanbul Uni players scored in double figures. Istanbul Uni moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Botas. Loser Samsun stay at the bottom position with nine games lost. They share it with Osmaniye. Istanbul Uni will meet at home Besiktas (#10) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Samsun will play against Mersin MBK (#11) and hope to secure a win.
