Regular Season Round 17: B.Muenchen - Braunschweig 89-74

Very expected game when 16th ranked Braunschweig (3-13) was defeated on the road by fourth ranked Bayern Muenchen (13-3) 89-74 on Friday. Bayern Muenchen dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Braunschweig's 24. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was American swingman Reggie Redding (195-88, college: Villanova) who scored 10 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists. His fellow American import center Devin Booker (205-91, college: Clemson) chipped in 14 points and 7 rebounds. Bayern Muenchen's coach Aleksandar Djordjevic used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Canadian forward Dyshawn Pierre (198-93, college: Dayton) produced 19 points and 8 rebounds and Austrian point guard Thomas Klepeisz (186-91) added 19 points (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Bayern Muenchen moved-up to third place, which they share with Bayreuth. Loser Braunschweig dropped to the fifteenth position with 13 games lost. They share it with Walter Tigers. Bayern Muenchen will meet EnBW Ludwigsburg (#7) on the road in the next round. Braunschweig will play against BBC Bayreuth (#4) and hope to secure a win.
