Regular Season Round 11: Horsholm - Virum 53-72

Very significant was Virum's (#1, 9-1) victory against second-ranked Horsholm (6-3) 72-53. The game was mostly controlled by Virum. Horsholm managed to win second period 18-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great evening for American center Valerie Driscoll (193-92, college: Quinnipiac) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds. Forward Nikoline Oestergaard (183-92, college: Quinnipiac) helped adding 20 points. American forward Maryah Sydnor (185-93, college: Appalachian St.) responded with 22 points and Serbian forward Ivana Jovanovic (185-85) scored 11 points and 5 rebounds. Horsholm's coach Jesper Krone Rasmussen rotated twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Defending champion maintains first place with 9-1 record. Horsholm at the other side keeps the second position with three games lost. They share it with Lemvig. Virum will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Horsholm will play at home against Lemvig and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
