Regular Season Round 11: Abdullah Gul - Botas 69-70

The most exciting game of round 11 in the KBSL took place in Kayseri. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 3rd placed Abdullah Gul (7-3) to seventh ranked Botas (6-5) 70-69 on Friday evening. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Abdullah Gul. They outrebounded Abdullah Gul 43-27 including a 33-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for American point guard Natasha Lacy (178-85, college: UTEP) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 15 rebounds and 9 assists. Her fellow American import guard Odyssey Sims (175-92, college: Baylor) helped adding 32 points and 5 assists. Tanisha Wright (180-83, college: Penn St., agency: LBM Management) responded with 17 points and 6 assists and Belgian center Ann Wauters (194-80, agency: Josep and Nicolas) scored 14 points and 6 rebounds. Four Abdullah Gul players scored in double figures. Botas moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Istanbul Univ. Abdullah Gul at the other side dropped to the fourth position with three games lost. Botas is looking forward to face Adana ASKI (#8) in Mersin in the next round. Abdullah Gul will play on the road against Yakin Dogu BGD (#3) in Istanbul and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
