Regular Season Round 13: Trabzonspor - Besiktas 90-91

Twelfth-ranked Trabzonspor (4-9) made lots of trouble for second ranked Besiktas (11-2) on Saturday. The visitors from Istanbul managed to secure only one-point victory 91-90. However their fans expected much easier game. Besiktas forced 21 Trabzonspor turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American forward Earl Clark (208-88, college: Louisville) stepped up and scored 27 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and American-Tunisian Michael Roll (197-87, college: UCLA) chipped in 14 points and 8 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Besiktas' coach Ufuk Sarica used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side American power forward Julian Wright (203-87, college: Kansas, agency: Alti Sport) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists and the other American import Caleb Green (203-85, college: ORU) scored 15 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Besiktas have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Anadolu Efes and Fenerbahce. Trabzonspor lost third consecutive game. They keep the twelfth place with nine games lost. They share the position with Gaziantep and Usak. Besiktas will meet at home league's leader Fenerbahce in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Trabzonspor will play against TED Kolejliler (#16) in Ankara and hope to secure a win.
