Everything went according to plan when seventh ranked Dragons Rhoendorf (6-8) defeated at home 10th ranked USC Leipzig (4-10) 86-76 on Saturday. American forward Aaron Nelson (203-91, college: S.Indiana) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 11 rebounds. Point guard Viktor Frankl-Maus (186-93) contributed with 17 points and 5 assists for the winners. Dragons Rhoendorf's coach Matthias Sonnenschein used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Forward Sascha Leutloff (202-82) replied with 26 points and 8 rebounds and American forward Jordan Faison (201-94, college: Cal Poly Pomona) added 21 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for USC Leipzig. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Dragons Rhoendorf maintains seventh position in South with 6-8 record. Loser USC Leipzig dropped to the eleventh place with ten games lost. Dragons Rhoendorf will face higher ranked BG Karlsruhe (#5) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. USC Leipzig will play against Wuerzburg (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
