No shocking result in a game in Prienai where fourth ranked Vytautas (10-8) defeated 6th ranked Neptunas (8-10) 74-67 on Saturday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Neptunas won fourth quarter 20-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Forward Saulius Kulvietis (206-91) had a double-double by scoring 17 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and forward Vytenis Lipkevicius (196-89) chipped in 20 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Four Vytautas players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American point guard Larry Drew II (188-90, college: UCLA) with 10 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Laurynas Beliauskas (189-97, agency: BeoBasket) scored 13 points. Vytautas have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 10-8 record. Neptunas lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth place with ten games lost. They share the position with P.Zvaigzdes and Juventus. Vytautas will meet at home higher ranked Lietuvos rytas (#3) in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Neptunas will play against the league's second-placed Lietkabelis and hope to secure a win.
