Very expected game when 10th ranked Lusitania (3-11) lost on the road to third ranked FC Porto Ferpinta (11-3) 92-83. FC Porto Ferpinta dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Lusitania's 38 and made 18-of-23 charity shots (78.3 percent) during the game. FC Porto Ferpinta forced 20 Lusitania turnovers and outrebounded them 35-19 including 23 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American-Liberian guard Thomas Bropleh (196-91, college: Boise St., agency: Duran International) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds. Serbian power forward Sasa Borovnjak (206-89, college: Penn St., agency: 011 Sports) chipped in 21 points (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!). FC Porto Ferpinta's coach Moncho Lopez allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Naturalized Angolan forward Antonio Monteiro (204-89) produced 30 points and 7 rebounds and American center Chris Matagrano (206-90, college: New Hampshire) added 20 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) respectively for the guests. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Benfica and Galitos-Barreiro. Lusitania lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth place with 11 games lost. FC Porto Ferpinta's next round opponent will be bottom-ranked Sampaense (#12) in Coimbra which should be an easy win for them. Lusitania will play at home against Ovarense and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
