Regular Season Round 13: Guifoes - Ginasio 62-76

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 5th ranked Guifoes (4-8) were defeated at home by sixth ranked Ginasio (5-8) 76-62 on Saturday. The former international guard Jose Costa (187-73) fired 19 points and 4 assists for the winners. The former international center Marco Goncalves (206-84) chipped in 15 points and 7 rebounds. Four Ginasio players scored in double figures. Forward Ricardo Alpuim (191-88) produced 11 points and 7 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws) and Goncalo Madureira (182-98) added 12 points respectively for lost side. Guifoes' coach Nuno Filipe Gomes Freitas let to play twelve players and allowed the starting five to rest. Ginasio moved-up to fifth place in Group North, which they share with Sanjoanense. Loser Guifoes dropped to the seventh position with eight games lost. Ginasio will face league's leader Dragon Force in Porto in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Guifoes will play on the road against Vasco (#3) in Porto and hope to win that game.
