Regular Season Round 15: Jena II - Schwabing 83-71

There was a small surprise when eighth ranked Jena II (7-7) defeated at home 6th ranked Schwabing (8-6) 83-71 on Saturday. Jena II forced 20 Schwabing turnovers. It was a great evening for American Vincent Garrett (198-91, college: Green Bay) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds. Darian Cardenas (198-95) helped adding 8 points and 5 rebounds. The best for the losing side was Australian point guard Shane McDonald (188-85, college: Nova SE) with 15 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and Serbian guard Dimitrije Mrdja (188-98) scored 8 points, 8 assists and 4 steals. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Jena II moved-up to seventh place in South-East. Loser Schwabing keeps the sixth position with six games lost. Jena II will face higher ranked Vilsbiburg (#4) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
